Day 5 – Kentucky crafts

Sandy and I went off to Berea, the next exit south of Richmond and home of Berea College and lots of crafts. The crafts center there has some wonderful items:

Then we visited several other crafts places in Berea.

After that back home and a walk through the back woods with her husband, Jim. They helped find some cool leaves for future art projects, and I found this little mushroom growing in some bark:

In the evening we were off to dinner at Alfalfa, a cool little restaurant in Lexington, followed by a concert with Reel World String Band (http://www.reelworldstringband.com/index.html) and a poetry reading by Nikky Finney, recipient of the 2012 National Book Award for Poetry (http://nikkyfinney.net/).
